Rettenberg is located next to the foot of the mountain Grünten, at the height of 800m at the most southern part of Bavaria, the Allgäu. With its two breweries, it is, as the “most southern brewery-village of Germany”, home of many beer specialities. Rettenberg has about 4000 inhabitants and accommodates medium-size companies, crafts enterprises and farms. The culture of the Allgäu is particularly pronounced in Rettenberg. You can learn about the tradition of the Allgäu, the folk dances, the agriculture and the culinary specialities of the Allgäu at a cosy homeland evening. Therefore, you can take a view behind the secrets of the production of cheese, by visiting a cheese-factory. You may learn, what is special about our beers. In numerously restaurants you can explore the culinary specialities of the Allgäu. Many cultural events take place regularly. Families and children are welcome at Rettenberg, too! The winter is going to be unforgettable, too: What about a horse-carriage-drive through the snow-covered landscape and a cup of glow wine? If you would like to do some sports, we can offer you 4 skiing-areas around the Grünten with 15 ski elevators.
